Finding Community in the Struggle: You're Not Alone

Dear Rebels -

Can we all agree that sometimes, we just don't feel like doing the things we're supposed to do? I don’t want to blog today. My brain feels like it's running on fumes as I type these words trying to convince myself to focus on what the next sentence might be, rather than listening to the other voice inside my head that is telling me to say “fuck it”.

But here’s the thing: I'm still trying to put some words down on this page, even though I'd much rather be doing something else. It's not easy, but it's worth it.

Why? Because I know that there are other people out there who feel the same way I do. People who are neurodivergent and who struggle with executive dysfunction. People who have a million things they need to do but can’t seem to get started on any of them. People who are constantly fighting against their own brains.

I’m writing this blog post for you.

I’m writing this blog post to tell you that it’s okay to not want to do things. Sometimes, it's hard to show up for tasks that we don't feel excited about or passionate about. But here we are, trying our best to push through and get things done.

I’m writing this blog post to tell you that it’s okay to be imperfect. I know some of us struggle with perfectionism (raises hand). We want everything we do to be flawless, to be the best possible version of itself. But let's be real: that's a lot of pressure to put on ourselves. And sometimes, good enough is just...good enough. We don't have to be perfect all the time.

I’m writing this blog post because I want you to know that you are worthy, even when you don’t feel like it. You are worthy, even when you can’t seem to get anything done. You are worthy, even when you feel like a failure.

I’m writing this blog post to tell you that you’re not alone.

So please, don’t be too hard on yourself. Just show up. Just do the thing. Even if it’s just for a few minutes. Even if it’s just one sentence.

Even if it’s just a single thought.

Just show up.

That’s all you need to do.

I believe in you.

I know you can do this.

And I’m here for you every step of the way.

And hey, if you're reading this, thank you. Thank you for taking the time to read my ramblings. I appreciate it more than you know.

Always,

Breanna aka chaosxanarchy
